Tier im Recht (TIR) is proud to present its new, completely revised website on today's World Animal Day. The new www.tierimrecht.org is not only much clearer and more user-friendly than its predecessor but also more modern and interactive. Interested individuals can now find out more easily and quickly about the various aspects of legal animal welfare.
TIR attaches great importance to informing the public in a comprehensible and practical way on the legally correct treatment of animals and to raise social awareness about their needs. Information over the internet is of course an essential means for this purpose. For many years now, TIR's website has been providing background information on practical and, in particular, legal aspects of animal welfare.
However, the website, which was launched in 2002, became outdated over time and could no longer satisfy the current requirements in terms of both optical and technical properties, which made it necessary to undertake a complete revision. TIR is very happy to present its new website today – on World Animal Day.
The new www.tierimrecht.org is much clearer than its predecessor and comes along in a contemporary design. In addition, the user-friendliness has been greatly improved for smartphones and tablets. All types of users can now access the information much faster and easier.
The website now provides comprehensive information on questions relating to animals in the law. For example, it contains an electronic collection of the applicable federal and cantonal decrees on animal law, a lexicon of the most important concepts of animal welfare law (in german) and an overview of the law on dogs in all cantons. Further areas accessible to the public are the TIR database, which contains all Swiss animal-welfare related criminal cases since 1982, the virtual library with the bibliographical references of more than 13'000 works of TIR's literature collection, answers to the most frequently asked legal questions, all publications by TIR, and current news reports. All this knowledge on animal welfare is aimed at animal owners and lawyers but also at enforcement authorities (veterinary services, administrative bodies, police, criminal investigation, and judicial authorities), veterinarians, politicians, media professionals, and other organizations or interested individuals.
TIR is convinced that the new www.tierimrecht.org will make an important contribution to the continuous improvement of the human-animal relationship. We would like to thank DU DA for the development of the new website and the very pleasant cooperation.
Have fun browsing our new website and discovering interesting content!
