Fisheries Legislation
The fisheries legislation regulates the catching of live fish and other marine animals. The Federal Fisheries Act aims to preserve, improve or, where possible, restore the natural biodiversity and population of indigenous fish, crustaceans and fish feed as well as their habitats, to protect endangered species and breeds of fish and crustaceans, to ensure the sustainable use of fish and crustacean stocks and to promote fishery research. All federal and cantonal laws in this field can be found on the German version of this page.
