Library - Online Database The database of the TIR library contains about 24'000 books, essays, and movies on the animal within the law, ethics, and society. All listed works are also physically available at TIR's office. The TIR library is a reference library. Copying facilities are available. Opening hours: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. till 12 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. till 5:30 p.m. (or upon request). In order to visit us, please contact us beforehand: Tel. +41 (0)43 443 06 43.New additions will be available on the Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP) from January 2026.

A closer look at the existing laws points out the loopholes in the respective criminal codes and animal welfare legislations regarding the punishment of zoophilic actions. Taking into account modern ethical animal welfare concepts, the viewpoint of the “dignity of the animal” is an important factor in the revision of existing laws.
