In Switzerland, most people deem animal and species protection to be self-evident, especially as Swiss animal welfare legislation is considered one of the most progressive in the world. When traveling abroad, however, problematic human-animal interactions might be encountered more readily. In the following, some practices that are often associated with considerable stress for the animals or are connected to conservation issues will be examined in more detail.
